Who, What & Why?

We here at StressLess are a Young Enterprise company that are working to help improve well-being in young people. We aim to achieve this goal whilst allowing the children have a fun experience at the same time. This is common aim between all of our staff, and we feel that mental well-being among children is an under-looked area. Below are some answers to the commonly asked questions we get.

What is well-being?

The Oxford Dictionary defines well-being as ‘The state of being comfortable, healthy, or happy’.

Paying more attention to the present moment – to our own thoughts and feelings, and to the world around us – can improve our mental well-being. This awareness is known as “mindfulness”.

Practising mindfulness can help young children learn to focus, manage stress, regulate emotions, and develop a positive outlook.

Research has shown that mindfulness helps young children them:

  • Improve emotional and well-being
  • Feel calmer and more fulfilled
  • Get on better with others
  • Concentrate better
  • Manage their stress and anxiety

What makes you different?

As all of us are in education and very close to our target audience, we understand how to approach children effectively. Also, being at school, we understand the specific problems and stresses children experience at school therefore giving us the ability to be able to tackle the problems from what we know works best!

What is your mission statement?

Stressless aims to provide effective and stimulating activities to promote and improve the well-being of young children.

What are the effects of using your product?

Physical

Physical activity or exercise can improve your health and reduce the risk of developing several diseases for example cancer and cardiovascular disease. Having regular activity can improve your quality of life. Physical activity also releases endorphins which is a chemical that trigger a positive feeling, similar to morphine, which will improve your mental state and overall feelings.

Creative

Being creative helps you become a better problem solver in all areas of your life. Being creative helps you view situations from a different perspective. Studies show that creative people are more able to live with uncertainty because they can adapt their way of thinking.

Sensory

Sensory play is important for development, from birth children use their senses to explore and try to make sense of the world around them. Children do this by touching, tasting, smelling, seeing, moving and hearing. It is important that that a child can use all their sensory abilities in all stages of life.

Mental

Mental health includes our emotional physiological and social well-being. It effects how we feel and act. It also helps us handle stress and relate to other people around us. Mental health is important at every stage of life weather you’re in your adolescence, childhood or adult hood.
